sustainability mission

For us, packaging is just as important as the product it carries. We strive to offer packaging that is sustainable as possible, whilst retaining the important elements of being protective and aesthetically pleasing.

As of Spring/Summer 2022, all new stock will benefit from any relevant changes listed below.

We use recyclable materials

  • sustainability mission

  • From Spring/Summer 2022 onwards, all new packaging, including printed boxes and swing tags, will be made from unlaminated card so that it is widely recyclable.
  • Removing plastic from this aspect of our business will significantly reduce waste that would end up in landfills.

On-pack recycling label

  • sustainability mission

  • We have registered for an OPRL logo, which will appear on our packaging to encourage recycling.
  • This will provide you with beneficial knowledge to share with your customers.

Packaging Symbols

  • sustainability mission

  • We are introducing a new system of symbols that will appear on packaging and the website.
  • The purpose of these is to draw attention to material qualities and manufacturing processes, including plastic free, food safe, recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable to help keep our customers informed in their buying choices – keep your eyes peeled for updates on our website coming soon.

Packaging Case Study

LED Night Lights

  • sustainability mission

  • As a recent example we have re-designed the packaging of our bestselling LED night lights, which will now be used for all other night lights going forward.
  • These were originally supplied in PVC packaging, and now come in a decorative and recyclable Sass & Belle cardboard box, making the product more giftable and better protected, while also reducing plastic use.

Improving packaging is very much a work in progress, and changes will filter through to our customers as old stock is replaced with new, but we are committed to adopting new packaging practices as swiftly as possible, and to researching the availability of new materials to achieve this goal.
