Gift of the Year

Our Cottage Garden collection has been Highly Commended at the Gift of the Year awards 2022.

The Gift of the Year awards are accolades aimed at recognising the best new products and inspiration in the giftware industry.

January 2022 saw the launch of vibrant red and soft cream additions to our bestselling Cottage Garden collection. After the success of the mushroom motif ceramic lines from AW21, the additions of plant misters, salt and pepper shakers, and watering spikes were the perfect entry into the Home & Garden awards category.

After several months and numerous rounds of judging, our range of Cottage Garden ceramics generated a lot of interest with the judges and reached the finals.

At the live award ceremony, although we did not scoop the top prize, our Cottage Garden collection was awarded the Highly Commended badge by the panel of judges.

It is so rewarding for our lovingly designed products to be acknowledged by industry professionals, as our inhouse design team work so tirelessly to create on-trend products at an affordable price point.

Our Cottage Garden range has already been hugely successful since its launch at the beginning of the year, and we are sure its new accolade with only boost its popularity with your customers further. Please feel free to use the official Highly Commended graphics when promoting the range in your shops and online.

Our Cottage Garden collection is our spin on the Cottagecore trend that begun to emerge on social media platforms in 2020. Paying homage to a more homely way of life, the collection is characterised by reverting to traditional values and simpler times. Blending country-style interiors with a contemporary edge, it’s all about creating a cosy haven in the place you call home.

What exactly is Cottagecore?

Cottagecore is an aesthetic centred around the idea of living a simple rural lifestyle, while also drawing inspiration from motifs commonly found in fairy tales, such as toadstools. The trend has appeared several times over the past 20 years, but it really made a resurgence during the pandemic when millennials were often forced to step back from their once hectic lives and hunker down at home - Many were leaving the cities to lockdown with family in more rural areas of the country. This interior style offers a form of escapism from the daunting lockdown days, looking to simpler times gone by for comfort, allowing for a focus on projects at home, whether that be DIY and upcycling or cooking and baking, reminiscent of idyllic simpler times of some generations gone by.

Due to its nature-inspired colour palette and organic designs, the Cottagecore trend is set to stay as the aesthetic can be easily intertwined into the home. Pairing perfectly and complementing other popular interior styles such as modern country and vintage florals, now is the perfect time to update your interiors offering by adding in mushroom motifs, wholesome accessories and floral prints from our Grandmillenial range

Our top three tips to achieve the whimsical Cottagecore look:

  • Pick bold prints and patterns. Whether it’s a mushroom motif or a comforting vintage floral design, layer up patterns to add an abundance of character.
  • Bring the outdoors in. Our vases and planters are perfect for bringing wildflowers and herbs into the home – showing an appreciation for nature.
  • Highlight warm, earthy tones. Warm tones such as orange, red, yellow and beige are friendly to our eyes, evoking that cosy feeling.
